So, I've been thinking about this a lot in the past few days. You guys know that the economy is not doing so well. I'm sure that you've also heard that small businesses are being impacted pretty hard and many of them are beginning to shut their doors. I have a heart for those folks. They sunk more than just money in their business. I remember the first day opening our doors. My Mom stopped me before we unlocked the door and we prayed. Right there, in front of God and everybody (thought you might appreciate that :) Anyway, we asked Him to make it His own and make sure that we did what He wanted us to do with the business. Fifteen years later, we're still trying to do just that. I also remember waking up at night excited about all the possibilities. How this new venture could be an asset to each of my family members. I was working for us all.
Now, we've been blessed with a solid Christmas season last year, and there are no plans to lose this store to the economy. But, that makes me think....why should you choose us? Why should we survive and others not?
So, here goes. Why us?
1. When you come here it is a genuine experience. The people who work here are glad to see you and that is real. They aren't putting on just for you. We LIKE people. And, we like nattering. It's the perfect job for us!
2. We don't display our merchandise on peg boards or metal shelves (unless that is a current decorating trend and then we might :) We build our displays into vignettes. When you look at a bookshelf in Accents you might get some pointers for how you could make your bookshelf at home look more like you'd like for it too.
3. The product you do find will be a great price for what it is. I say, what it is because sometimes I choose the most current trendy items and those can be a little higher priced because they are new and if you want the newest trend then you might have to pay for it (think how much computers were when they first hit the market). I also like products from companies that I can count on. If something goes wrong will they be there with me? I have a clock company that guarantees their works for one year. I love them because they partner with you and I. Yes, I have to pay a little more, but the quality is there. Then sometimes it is just a Drop Dead Great Price because I found a DEAL! When it is time for Market (and it is next week...yeah!) I travel in a pack. My sis, niece and hubby are all going this time and our job is to be your shoppers. We want to provide you with the best product we can find at the best prices. We are excellent shoppers and we always look at a potential buy with the same thought in mind...will our customers want to pay this price for this piece?
4. The music envelopes you and the scented air (from Tyler candles of course) make for a relaxing shopping experience. No butt-brush here. No herd-shopping either. Our aisles are wide and you can enjoy at your leisure. Of course, we'll ask if we can help. But our customers come to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells. If you need help, just take us up on our offer. If not, shop to your heart's delight.
5. When you decide on the perfect item to give...we'll wrap it and of course it's free. Now, I have to tell you, I'm spoiled. I cannot stand going shopping where they don't put my gift into a gift bag and send me wrapped and ready. Heck, at the marts this past Christmas (I have kids so yes, I shopped Target), they don't provide anything to help you wrap...no boxes, nothing! Of course, I can go buy it. But by the time I figure in all of the wrapping supplies, I could have given my recipient a nicer gift. Now, if you are a person who wraps beautifully and part of your gift is the wrap, I admire you and this probably won't be a benefit for you. But, if you are like me, time-strapped and wanting to be frugal with my money, visit Accents! We love to put your gift into a gift bag with coordinating tissue and a peppy little bow.
